BGV Fest 2010 From 5th to 7th February 2010 the largest event in the Russian snowboarding took place in the «Metallurg-Magnitogorsk» Ski Resort (Bannoe Lake). The legendary 4Star BGV Fest closed the 2009/10 BGV Tour. 24 riders from around the world came to GLTS Metallurg-Magnitogorsk to fight for $ 20 000 (600 000 rubles). Chris Sörman (SWE) who just recently was nominated Best Rider of the Year in Sweden, took home the 4Star title and now sits in World No. 52 on the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour. Chris Kröll (AUT) who finished in fourth made a jump into World No. 44 on the world ranking list.
Best riders of the BGV Fest 2010:
1. Chris Sörman (SWE) - frontside board slide to fakie, switch backside 900 indy, backside 900 indy
2. Alexey Sobolev (RUS, Novosibirsk) - switch frontside board slide, switch backside 900 indy, frontside 1080 tail
3. Zebastian Landmark (SWE) - blunt to fakie, switch backside 900 indy, frontside 720 tail
4. Chris Kröll (AUT) - frontside board slide, frontside 1080 stale fish, backside 720 mute
5. Sergey Lapushkin (RUS, Novosibirsk) - backside board slide, backside 1080 mute, frontside 900 melon
6. Otto Veijola (FIN) - switch frontside board slide, cab 900 nose, frontside 720 melon
7. Ludwig Lejkner (SWE) - frontside board slide to Danish, frontside 900 tail, switch frontside 900
8. Petek Matevz (SLO) - backside board slide to fakie, switch backside 720
Together with a FMX and Free Ski show, the evening was a great success and culminated in the BGV Fest awards ceremony that was accompanied by massive fireworks. The best riders are sharing a prize purse of $20 000 (600 000 rubles), carefully stored on a Visa Gift from UniCredit Bank. Beside trophies, the winners received exclusive hand-made bears - the symbol of BGV - with medals made of gold, silver and bronze.
