Since the winter of 2004, top international riders have gathered in Trysil for Sweet Rumble, Sweet Protections own big air competition extravaganza. TTR Burton New Zealand Open 2010 - Halfpipe Finals

The men dropped into the pipe in the afternoon and perfect weather conditions continued for the men's field.  Iouri Padladchikov (SUI) had a little trouble on his first run but came back to take the top spot with his second drop putting down a huge crippler, double McTwist 1260, frontside 1080 tailgrab, and a Cab 720.  With today's result, Podladtchikov moved into World No. 1 in the Swatch TTR Rankings sitting behind current leader, Gjermund Braaten (NOR)   Japanese riders were out in full force and young 14-year old ripper, Taku Hiraoka, gave the men's field a run for their money.  He threw down an excellent run to take second place.  And, American rider, Louie Vito, stepped it up with his second run to take home the third spot on the podium. Today's halfpipe competition marked the debut of the new Snowboard Live Scoring system (SLS), which takes a new approach to judging halfpipe runs.  Instead of looking at a rider's overall run like the Overall Impression system, the new SLS system scores each hit in a rider's run which are then combined with an overall flow score in order to provide a clear definition of how the judges arrive at a final score.  The SLS system was a success in today's halfpipe competition and seemed to be well received by the riders.For full event results, news, videos and updates keep your eyes glued to the http://www.ttrworldtour.com website.

TTR BIllabong Ante Up 2010 Finals - Seb Toots

The Billabong Ante Up competition, the first 5Star event of the 2010/11 Swatch TTR World Tour season, went off today with an excellent showing from a diverse field of riders. The summertime event was held up at 7,000-feet in the Camp of Champions park on the Blackcomb glacier and featured a massive 75-foot gap jump. The event featured 40 riders going for a piece of the $50,000 prize purse and 850 TTR ranking points. It was an all-Canadian podium and Sebastien Toutant (CAN) took the top spot making him $20,000 richer. Toutant also secured an automatic invite to the Billabong Air & Style Innsbruck. All the riders were pulling off some impressive tricks all day and it came down to a double cork 1260 race for the podium with all three riders doing different variations of the trick. Toutant won the first place podium spot with a flawless Cab 1260 double cork and had this to say about his win, "Winning the first 5Star TTR big air contest was just amazing, it was an epic final and it's sick because I'll be leading in the TTR ranking going down to New Zealand in August."Coming in second place behind Toutant and winning $15,000 was Matts Kulisek (CAN) who landed a backside 1260 double cork and Mark McMorris (CAN) took third place earning $10,000 for his frontside 1260 double cork. Other notable mentions include Gjermund Braaten (NOR) who also stomped a backside 1260 double cork to take fourth place and Chas Guldemond (USA) who landed a frontside 1260 for fifth place. TTR Billabong Ante Up - 2010/11 Season Opener

The 2010/2011 season of the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour is going to begin with the 5Star Billabong Ante Up big air event on June 26th, 2010 in Whistler, Canada.The 5Star event offers a $50,000 prize purse and 850 Swatch TTR points. Plus, the first place snowboarder at the Ante Up will be automatically invited to the legendary 6Star Billabong Air & Style Innsbruck.Although the event is only one day of competition, the organizers have built in a five-day holding period to ensure the riders have optimal weather conditions.Included among the 40 invited riders at the Ante Up will be Seb Toutant, Marko Grilc, Torstein Horgmo, Scotty Lago, Chas Guldemond, and Charles Reid.Many riders attending the 2010 Ante Up, especially those like Chas Guldemond, Mark McMorris, Marko Grilc, Gjermund Braaten and others, who finished in the 09/10 TTR Top 25 will have the opportunity to set themselves up nicely in the 10/11 points race.For full event results, news, videos and updates keep your eyes glued to the http://www.ttrworldtour.com website.
