What is your favourite place to ride and why?
I think one of the most fun parks to ride is Absolut Park in FlachauWinkl. They have a pretty long line with a bunch of fun features to play around on and at the top of the run there are 2 big jumps to chuck some tricks.
For powder riding I like Gerlos in Zillertal a lot! There are so many lines you can do without needing a sled or anything.

What age did you start snowboarding?
I started snowboarding when I was 9 years old.

What snowboarders do you most look up to?
I've always looked up to Mikkel Bang. From when he was a kid in "White Balance" until now! And definitely Travis Rice as well.

What do you focus on most - slopestyle? Pipe? Big Air? and why?
I'm focussing on slopestyle and big air. I've never had the chance to ride any pipes when I was young since there weren't any on the indoorslopes. So I never got the same feeling in it as I have on jumps. That's why I like jumps more and find it easier to ride.

What is your most memorable snowboarding experience?
I think that is the Air & Style in Beijing. The whole combination was just perfect! First time in China, first Air & Style, my best BS 12 ever and getting 2nd place!

Your on the road a lot throughout the season - what is your favourite
place to visit and why?

I always love going back to the places where my career started, which are Gerlos and FlachauWinkl. Gerlos is just always a fun time shredding with the guys from the Hotzone snowboardshop. And in FlachauWinkl I always do more backflips in 1 day than I do in the rest of the season.

What does a normal day consist of for you when your not snowboarding?
I try to wake up before noon, haha. Then will go for a gym session, do some emails and have a little beer in the evening.

How has TTR affected your snowboarding career?
TTR has definitely made my career for a big part. Without those contests I would've never become a known snowboarder. I'm a real contest rider as well so all those contests have pushed my level a lot. And for every contest I try to get new tricks to get an as good result as possible.
So thx TTR!

TTR Billabong Air & Style Innsbruck 2012 - Finals

Peetu Piiroinen (FIN) wins the 6Star Billabong Air&Style with steady Backside 1260 mute grabs all evening long. Seppe Smits (BEL) takes the TTR Big Air Tour Trophy 2012 home, after coming in second here at the Bergisel Stadium in Innsbruck, closely followed by Niklas Mattsson (SWE).'Winning the Big Air Tour Trophy was unexpected, I was very happily surprised.'Seppe SmitsPeetu, who won with a clean and stylish Backside 1260 mute grab responded: 'It was a great night, and it felt really good being here. This was definitely one of the hardest competitions for me, with everyone stomping it.' Under icy conditions 12.500 spectators set fire to the Bergisel stadium for one of the most thrilling Air&Style competitions ever. A gripping final was the perfect conclusion of an action packed night. With final scores not more than 0.6 points apart, it was clear the riders gave it their all. Peetu Piiroinen took home the ring of glory and another 1000 points for the World Tour Rankings. More surprising action was put down by Swedish Niklas Mattsson, who rounded up the podium after holding his own against 3 clear favorite opponents in the final, including former Air&Style winner Sebastien Toutant (CAN). Niklas got the crowd to go wild with his second run, a Frontside 1080 Double Cork Mute Grab.Eric Willett (USA) earned the second highest score of the night with a Switch Backside 1260 Double Cork Mute Grab, worth 94.0 points, but failed to make the Superfinal after encountering Peetu Piiroinen in the second round. He had the biggest chance of winning the TTR World Tour Big Air title, but missing the Superfinal tonight, meant he had to watch Seppe claim the championship. Tonight's performances had a major influence on the TTR Overall Tour Ranking, with Seb Toutant now leading the pack, and Stale Sandbech (NOR), Roope Tonteri (FIN), Seppe Smits and Eric Willett all move up, rounding up the top 5.The TTR World Tour will move to Oslo, Norway from 10-19 February.

Amongst a thrilled crowd of thousands, the men's final was exciting down to the last run. TTR Nike 6.0 Air & Style Munich 2011 - Wrap Up

The 6Star Nike 6.0 Air & Style went off tonight in Munich, Germany where Peetu Piiroinen (FIN) threw down a Cab 1260 on the big air jump and a frontblunt 270 out on the rail section in the super finals to take home the win. With his victory tonight, Peetu took home an abundance of prizes including a large share of the € 75,000 prize purse, the coveted "Air & Style Ring of Glory" and 1000 Swatch TTR World Ranking points. Peetu remains in the TTR World No. 1 position and strengthened his tour lead after earning some major TTR points here in Munich. It was an exciting night in Munich with over 16,500 spectators in attendance at the Olympic Stadium where 16 of the worlds top snowboarders dropped into the massive big air gap jump, followed by a staircase that featured four different rail options. The Air & Style events are famous for the unique head-to-head tournament style format where the rider field is cut in half each round until there are only four remaining riders who battle it out for the win. It came down to Peetu Piiroinen, Seppe Smits (BEL), Halldor Helgason (ICL) and Nils Arvidsson(SWE) in the super final who all threw down some impressive tricks. In the end, Peetu prevailed with his Cab 1260 and was very happy about his win saying, "This Air & Style was so good to me. I did all three Air & Styles this year and got fifth in Beijing and second in Innsbruck, now first here, so I got better step by step. It feels amazing. And, when I think about the TTR ranking I for sure want to finish in the top three." Second place finisher, Seppe Smits, was super consistent all night stomping just about every single trick he attempted. His best scoring trick was his own variation of the Cab 1260 combined with a frontside noseslide to pretzel out in the final round. His second place here in Munich moved him into TTR World No. 2. And, coming in third place was Halldor, who was pushing his limits to take the last spot on the podium.
